In my nascent career, I stumbled into a small agency that had built a reputation after doing some early event promotion in Kansas City for Tesla. I was just starting to cut my teeth as a designer and was going around Topeka, handing out my portfolio in person to anyone who would take one (hey bro, wanna buy my mix tape?). The director took a chance on me and we pitched to a variety of local business, as well as bigger institutions, such as Stormont Vail Health and Architect One. We also did work for The Kansas Chamber of Commerce, Meridian Roofing, and Kansas Health Institute. We eventually sought to branch out to other markets, landing several design contracts with King and Rose boutique eyewear in Austin, TX.
